Keys, Sr. Celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of Married Life. Lodiburg, Ky., Dec. 26. (Special.) -- Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Keys, Sr. celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their married life at their home near this place today. In response to invitations, their children and grandchildren met in the old home with well-filled baskets and the table was filled to its capacity with the good of the land. The good old folks were the recipients of gold coins from each of their children. A most pleasant day was spent by the following persons: J.E. Keys and family, J. Fitch and family of Cloverport, G. French and wife, Louisa [sic; her name was Georgia], J.W. Keys and family, A.J. Keys Jr., of Lodiburg and S.F. Keys, of Brandenburg. H.O. Keys, of Stanley, was absent. Eighteen grandchildren were present. Of the fifty years of Mr. and Mrs. Keys' married life, forty-eight have been passed on the farm, where they still reside. Seven children have been born to this union, and all are living. The youngest is thirty years of age. Mr. Keys is seventy-five years old and his wife seventy. Both are hale and hearty and bid fair to celebrate in a like manner for years to come. Andrew Jackson Keys was the son of Jesse Edward Keys and Susanna(h) Cork, while Martha Ann Shaw's parents were Jesse M. Shaw and Catharine ("Kittie") Ringer.
