        Lexie C. Kirkwood, 85, 567 W. Center St., died at 4:10 p.m. Friday 
at Reginal Medical Center in Madisonville.
        Born in Hopkins Co., he was a retired employee of the state highway
department. He was also a member of the Nebo Masonic Lodge.
His parents  were the late Robert Lee and Della Brown Kirkwood.
Surviving ar his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Tapp Kirkwood; a son Sidney of 922
Bell Drive; a grandaughter, Gale Travisof 508 S. Madison; a grandson,
Jeff Kirkwood, of Natchez, Miss. two great grandsons, also of Natchez; a
neice, Mrs. Grace Wooton of Nebo; and a cousin, Chester Brown of
Madisonville.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Suday from the chapel of Harris Funeral 
Home, conducted by Rev. Chester Brown. Burial will be in Rose Creek 
Cemetery near Coiltown, Ky.
