        Viola R. Kirkwood, 83, formerly of Madisonville, died Feb. 8 in
Woodlands
Convalescent Center in Newburgh, Ind.
        She was a former employee of J.R. Corum and the Wadlingtons in
Madisonville. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Walter Skaggs
of Madisonville and Hickman Kirkwood of Evansville, Ind. and one grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Carl (Eva) Wilson of Dawson Springs
and Mrs. Ann Pattie of Evansville; one son, James Skaggs of Madisonville;
nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren ; three brothers; two
sisters.
        Services were held Sunday, Feb. 10 at Ziemers Funeral Home in
Evansville.
