     Charles LANE of near Patesville, (Hancock County), died at his home on Saturday (January 13, 1929), 
of influenza and double pneumonia.  He had been ill for almost 3 weeks.  He is a farmer, and has been a 
life-long resident of the community in which he died.
     His aged father, Doc LANE, at the age of 83 years, was buried on New Years Day just past.  Mr. LANE is 
survived by:
his mother
the widow
one son:
Perry Bolin LANE
two daughters:
Dadie LANE and Zelma LANE, both of whom remain in the home three brothers:
Horace LANE of Cannelton, Indiana (Perry County) Arch LANE of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County) Oscar 
LANE of Ohio County, Ky two sisters:
Mrs. Maud BASHAM of South Bend, Indiana (St. Joseph County) Mrs. Wave BASHAM of near Patesville, 
Ky
     The funeral was held on Tuesday morning, (January 16, 1929) at the Bolings Chapel, and the burial 
followed in the church cemetery.
     He is an uncle of Bradley RICHARDS of this city (Cloverport, Ky), who attended the funeral.

Boling Chapel Church and Cemetery is in Hancock County, Ky Charles Lee LANE is the son of Santana D. 
"Doc" LANE and Jane NEWTON who are buried in Ohio County at the Newton Springs Baptist Church 
Cemetery.  They have a tombstone.  Santana and Jane had 6 children I have been able to find:
Horace G. LANE
Artamissa Rhoda LANE WELLS
Charles Lee LANE
Victoria LANE BASHAM
Auze Clayton LANE
Arch LANE
Maude LANE BASHAM
(some of this family spell their last name: LAIN instead of LANE).
My connection to this family is through Artamissa Rhoda LAIN who married a WELLS, and WELLS is one 
of my family surnames.

Charles Lee LANE married Della RICHARDS, the daughter of J.W. RICHARDS born in Hancock County, Ky., 
and Nancy C. FUQUA born in Daviess County, Ky.

and Sarah ANDERSON (who are buried at the Newton Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County, 
Ky).
