Laughlin.William.1870.Webster.WILL WILLIAM LAUGHLIN's Will,11-4-1869/proved 7-18-1870 "In the name of God amen. I WILLIAM LAUGHLIN of the town of Providence County of Webster and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of life do therefore make,ordain,publish and allow this to be my last Will and Testament. That is to say after all my law- ful debts are paid the residue of my estate real and personal I give bequeath and dispose of as follows to wit. To my daughter SARAH MONTGOMERY and her children I give the farm situate and lying in the County of Caldwell and state of Ken- tucky being the same on which they now reside to have and to hold until her son REUBEN GREER MONTGOMERY shall become of age and at that time to be disposed of as they see fit. To my daughter WINNIFRED P. I give the sum of five dollars not for its worth but as the last token of regard from an affectionate father and the residue of my Estate I give to my wife MARY LAUGHLIN during her natural life and at her death to be divided between my two sons ABNER G. and REUBEN J. LAUGHLIN. Likewise I make constitute and appoint my said sons A.G. and R.J. LAUGHLIN to be executors of this my last will and testa- ment hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the fourth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine. Wm. GREER was the son of Mary (Greer) Laughlin's brother Jonathan Greer. Wm. H. Greer was md. to Amanda J. Humphrey who was the daughter of Rolley & Jane Humphrey of Webster County. My connection to the Laughlins is through Wm. H. Greer's brother JOHN H. GREER b. Christian Co ca. 1837/died Webster or Hopkins Co, ca 1882.
