He was born Febuary 13,1883 in Tennesee,the son of the late Rant and Charity Taylor Lawson. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Red Bird. He is survived by daughter Cereta Helton,Saylor Ky. Son Hobart Lawson, Baltimore,Md,,Sister Marinda Shively of Stoney Fork; Half-sisters,Molly Lawson Middlesboro,Mrs.Martha Brock,Wallins Creek,Mrs.Susie Brock,Stoney Fork,Mrs.China France,Manchester; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Primitive Baptist Church in Red Bird with elder Walter Lawson and the Rev. Theo Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Lawson Cemetery at Red Bird. Family friends served as pallbearers. Arnett Funeral Home was in charge. Anyone who is not familier with the name Red Bird,Ky. the settlement became known as Beverly,Ky. Red Bird was the name of an old Indian Chief who lived in the area back when Dillion Asher/John & Felix Gilbert first came to the area,the first being John Gilbert. it is still called Red Bird by a lot of people today including myself..
