LAWSON
His Sufferings Ended
                Mr. George Lawson, who lived in Washington county, 
just over the line from Mercer, died last Thu. On the first day of 
last June he was stricken suddenly blind. This affliction became 
greater as time grew on. The balls from some unknown cause burst 
from their sockets. His suffering has been intense but he bore it 
with stoical fortitude. Though he was not affiliated with any church 
he called his wife and family about him and said he was ready to 
meet his Savior, and urged them to do the best they could for 
themselves and prepare to meet him in heaven, and passed away 
like one who wraps the drapery of his couch about him and lies 
down to pleasant dreams. (Harrodsburg Hearald, Thu January 26, 1905)
