DEED: Leach to Oakley, Deed of Mortgage - Bath Co Bath Co., KY Deed Book D Page 140 Leach To } Deed } Mortgage Oakley Know all men by these presents that I John Leach of Bath County Kentucky do hereby in consideration of the following considerations & contracts grant sell and convey to Christopher Oakley all the following property to wit my present stock of _of_ horses towit one sorrel mare with a Blaze face & her colt one other sorrel mare & a roan colt --- 6 head of cattle about 25 head of hogs 9 head of sheep my present crop of corn say about 100 Barrels some gathered and the Balance standing in the field three feather beds & furniture my household 7 Kitchen furniture all of which is now in my Possession to have and to hold the same and every article of these and to him the said Christopher Oakley his heirs and assigns forever subject however to the following conditions & Limitations the said Oakley has this day Loaned to the said Leach the sum of $100 for which he has executed his note. Now this conveyance is intended to be a Mortgage or pledge the Object of which is to secure to said Oakley the final repayment of said Loan & Interest now whenever the said leach shall hereafter be requested to pay the same with Interest to the time of Demand & he shall fail to do the same then in that event the said Oakley may enter & take possession of said property but until the said Oakley shall make the said demand the said leach is to remain in possession of all the said property In Witness of which I have here unto set my hand and seal This 27th day of October 1821 Witness John Leach Seal H.
