Sterling, after a long illness. A native of Bath County, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Bethel Christian Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Luther Ratliff, Mrs. Gay Rawlings, Bethel; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Utterback and Mrs. Tom Golden, Bourbon County; two brothers, J. W. Leggett, Bourbon County, and James Leggett, Harrison County, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at the Bethel Christian Church by the Rev. LaRay Salsberry. Burial was in the Long View Cemetery here. Bearers were Glen Hardin, Ernest Robinson, Elgin Church, Ralph Crouch, Jeff Gilvin and Edgar Scott. Honorary bearers were Ewell Arrasmith, albert and John Dicken, Emmett Davis, Paul Vice, Robert Fryman, S.B. Cannon, Rex crouch and Eddie Craig.
