"Mrs. Mattie Sanders Lessenberry, 71 years old, wife of J.D.Lessenberry, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Turk, and Mr. Turk, at Hiseville. Mrs. Lessenberry had been ill five weeks. "Besides her husband, she is survived by nine children, Mrs. W. E. Cook, Horse Cave; Mrs.J. H. Billings, Mrs. Turk, L. L. Lessenberry, Robert Lessenberry, Morris Lessenberry and Joe Lessenberry, all of Hiseville; D. D. Lessenberry, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. W. D. Talbott, Elkins, W. Va. "She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Renfro, of this place; and Mrs. W. W. Ross, of McGregor, Tex. "Mrs. Lessenberry, was Miss Mattie Belle Saunders, before marriage, and was born and reared six miles south of Glasgow, but moved to Hiseville, perhaps twenty years ago. Her entire life was spent in Barren county. She was a consecrated member of the Baptist church and a very pouplar lady. "Funeal services were held yesterday afternoon at the Turk home at 2 o'clock by the Rev. W. O. Kersey, pastor of the Hiseville Baptist Church. Burial was in the Hiseville cemetery."
