Harris, thence up the branch with its meanders and with Harris South 77-1/2 West 17 poles, South 36 West 2-1/2 poles to a Beech, thence up a hollow South 23 West 22 poles, South 39-1/2 West 31-1/2 poles to a stake, thence North 86 West 110-1/2 poles to a stake in Harris line and also corner to John Logan, thence South 18 West 8 poles to a stake in a road, thence with the road and John Logan's lines, South 27 West 26 poles, South 21-1/2 West 19 poles South 2 West 18 poles, South 14 East 10 poles, South 13-3/4 West 47-3/4 poles to a Sugar tree Stump corner to Said Logan and also corner to Moberly on the west Side of the road, thence along the Side of the road South 30 East 48 poles, South 35-1/4 East 28-1/2 poles to a stake coerner to Said Moberly and also H. Layton, thence with Layton and along the road South 35-1/4 East 40 poles, South 70 East 18 poles to the Beginning, containing three hundred and eight one acres 2 Roods 10 poles be the Same more or less -- To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed (with the exception of ten Square poles, being a little over three poles Square, around a grave Yard on the land)to him the Said James Alexander his heirs &c forever. And the Said Hugh Logan by these presents does and will warrant and forever defend the title to Said land free and discharged from the claim or claims of himself and his heirs and from and against the claims of any and all other persons whatsoever and unto the Said James Alexander his heirs and assigns absolutely and forever. In Testimony whereof the Said Hugh Logan together with his wife Nancy Logan, who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in and to the lands hereby conveyed, have hereunto set their hands and Seals this day and Year first above written. Mason Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this deed from Hugh Logan and Nancy Logan his wife to James Alexander was produced to me in my office on the 15th day of October 1851 by the Said grantor and acknowledged by the Said Hugh Logan to be his act and deed, and on the 18th day of November 1851 Said deed was again produced to me in my office by the said grantors, and the Said Nancy Logan being examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared that She did freely and willingly Seal and deliver the Said writing and wishes not to retract it, and acknowledged the Said writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed, and consenteth that the Same may be recorded. Whereupon the Said deed together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 28th day of November 1851. William B.
