Lyon Residence: Tompkinsville, Monroe Co., KY Died: At his residence, Saturday, February 17, 1968. Age 55. Son of Mrs. Flora Lyon Scott and the late Ed Lyon Accomplishments: Graduated from Western Kentucky State Teacher’s College in 1938, with a BS Degree; Served as principal of Gamaliel School for four years; supervisor of Monroe County Schools for two years; stave manager of Blue Grass Cooperage Company for seven years, partner in the L & S Lumber Company, with mills at Munfordville and Leitchfield for the past seven years. Varied business interests and elder of the Tompkinsville Church of Christ for several years; member of the Tompkinsville City Council for four years; past member of the Monroe County Fair Board; director of the Tompkinsville Industrial Foundation; member of the William B. Harlan Memorial Library Board; member of Tompkinsville Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Tompkinsville Lions Club, of which he had served as president, and was treasurer of the club at the time of his death. Survivors: Wife: Mrs. Lucille Chapman Lyon Daughters: Mrs. Clay Hundley Jr., Mrs. Bill Travis and Miss Sharon Lyon all of Tompkinsville. Brothers: Ray Lyon and Ernest Lyon, both of Tompkinsville. 6 Grandchildren Services: Conducted Monday at the Tompkinsville Church of Christ by Bro. Charles Tidwell and Bro. Ed Van Hooser, both former ministers of the church. Burial in the Mt.
