He was born in Pineville on November 5, 1935 the son of Roy and Hattie Gibson Maidon. He had retired from the Kentucky Division of Forestry and was a believer in the Baptist faith. He had served in the United States Marine Corps. He was proceded in death by his parents, a son Donny Ray Maidon, and brother, Elvie Maidon. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marlene Partin Maidon, daughter, Kay Robbins and Barry Gibson of Frakes and Vivian and Zyndall Evans of Little Clear Creek; grandchildren Barry James and Julie Gibson, Heather and Kenny Hollingsworth, Jonathan Gene and Hollie Maidon, Dusty Evans, Brittany Partin, Monica Evans and Kalynn Gibson; great-grandchild Austin Hollingsworth; brother, Tom and Doris Maidon of Lima, OH; and special brothers-in-law Loyall and Freddie Ann Partin of Pineville and Freddie Partin of Clear Creek and a host of other family members and friends. Services will be Saturday, May 1 at 1 P.M. at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Tigue, Rev. Ed Farmer and Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Gene Maidon Cemetery at Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be Eddie J. Partin, Zeke Smith, Kenny Hollingsworth, Norman Barnett, Jason Cheek and Billy Bingham. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Gibson, Alton “Mooch” Evans and Arthur Gibson. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, which was in charge of arrangements. Guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
