Margerum September 1, 1848 Scott County KyArchives Obituaries The Hannibal Journal, Thursday, September 7, 1848 Departed this life, on the 1th inst., Mr. John W. Margerum, in the ___ year of his age. He was a native of Scott county, Ky., but for the last 3 years he was a resident of this city. During his sojourn ______ he conciliated the good wishes and commanded the esteem of all who knew him. He was a _____ member of the Christian church and bore his _______ with fortitude and resignation, and died in the triumph of a living faith in Christ, his Salvation. His friends abroad may be consoled to know that during his illness at the residence of his uncle, Thos. S. Miller, he received every attention that __________ could suggest or kindness bestow. His remains were intered by the I.O.O.F. and Sons of Temperance (he having been a member of those orders) and at no ________ occasion in this city have we ever _________________________ of our fellow citizens in funeral procession. All seemed anxious to commemorate the death of him, who when living, was so affectionately regarded by every one. A.
