"Spike" Mashburn, 86. of Vances Creek, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at home. Born August 5, 1915, in Ray Springs Tennessee, he was a son of the late Dave Addie and Mary Jenkins Mashburn. He had worked as a landscaper In Detroit Surviving are five daughters, Barbara Wieczorek of Detroit Linda Hall of Garrison, Wanda Warren of Quincy, Carolyn Sue Jones of Banner, Mississippi , and Terry Hatch of West Jefferson, Ohio; three sons, Steven Mashburn of Quincy, Mayford David Mashburn of Sweetwater, Ten­nessee, and Dennis Mashburn of Lenoir City, Tennessee; one sister, Frances Jeffries of Richmond: one brother. Virgil Mashburn;16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Tackett Mashburn. Servives will be conducted Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Chapel in Garrison. John Stamper will offi­ciate with burial in Skidmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
