Tuesday, June 9, 1981, McCreary County Record:
Andy Mathews, 62, Whitley City, died at his home on June 2. Funeral services 
were held June 4 at McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel  at 1 p.m. with Rev. 
Earl Davis officiating. Burial was in Corder Cemetery./  He was born Dec. 10, 
1918, in Wayne County to the late Tom and Winnie Godsey Mathews. His parents; 
2 brothers, Marcus and George; 2 sisters, Dora Hamlin and Tilda Stephens, 
preceded him in death./  Survivors include 2 brothers, Hunter Mathews, Rt. 1, 
Stearns, and John Mathews, Coopersville, Ky./  McCreary County Funeral Home 
was in charge of arrangements.
