Mason BROWN and Mary BROWN his wife, formerly Mary YODER of the County of 
Franklin and State of Kentucky of the first part to Frederick B. MATHIS of the 
County of Specer of the other part ... for and in consideration of the sum of 
one dollar to the in hand paid and the further consideration of three hundred 
dollars to be paid 1 March 1844 and three hundred eighty two dollars and fifty 
cents to be paid 1 March 1845 and three hundred and eighty two dollars and 
fifty cents to be paid 1 March 1846... has sold and conveyed a parcel of land 
lying and being in the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky on the waters of 
Brashears Creek adjoining the town of Taylorsville containing seventeen and 
three quarters acres be the same more or less and bounded by the division line 
between the said Mason BROWN and wife and L. R. POTQUARD (?) and wife as the 
said division appears on recorded in the  clerk’s office of Spencer County 
Court... excluding however from teh conveyance a lot of one half acre situate 
on the ally and heretofore conveyed to the Presbyterian church and which half 
acre is within the above described boundary.
