McCARTY; BENTLEY; FAIRLEIGH

Know all men by these presents, that we William T. McCARTY and Manasseh McCARTY 
are held & firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just & full 
sum of fifty pounds, United States currency, which payment, well and truly to 
be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, &c jointly, severally & firmly, 
by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 13th day of July 1824.  
The condition of the above obligation is such that if there should be no legal 
cause to obstruct a marriage shortly to be solemnized between the above bound 
Wm T. McCARTY & Miss Sophia BENTLEY for which a license this day issued, then 
the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue in law.

Mead County Ky July the 12th 1824
To Wm FARLEY Clerk of sd County this is to certify
that I have given Wm T. McCARTY liberty to obtain license
for my Daughter Sophiah BENTLEY and wish you to grant them when application is 
made
Test    Manasseh McCARTY                  Abel BENTLEY

13th July 1824 Manasseh McCARTY this day made oath before me 
that he heard Able BENTLY acknowledge the within Certificate
to be his act & deed & also Consent to the within intended 
marriage taking place
