In testimony whence I have hereunto set my hand this 10th day of February, 1824, John Hughes Jr. Submitted by: Judy Bailey latewing@bellsouth.net Additional Comments: Although no military records or land grants or pensions have been found to date for Justin McCarty, he did hire an Attorney to try & receive any claim due him for being a soldier in the American Revolutionary War. I've been told his military record was probably destroyed by fire as many were. He is also listed in the books, "Pioneer History of Washington County Kentucky"; pg. 160, & "Biographical History of Kentucky" Vol. IV; pgs. 22 & 23, as being a Revolutionary War soldier. He is said to have enlisted in Pa., 1776 fought at Brandywine, & Long Island and was discharged at Fells Point, Baltimore Md. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/kyfiles/
