SALEM -- Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Dawalt Funeral Home,
Salem, for Charles W. McClure, 69, Salem, who died at 10:10 p.m. Friday at
Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery,
Salem, with Brother Alex McIntosh officiating.

Born in Mount Vernon, Ky., he was the son of Charles R. and Lula (Norton)
McClure. He married Gertrude Hasty on March 1, 1946, and she survives.
A former resident of Mt. Vernon, Ky., he was a farmer and resident of
Washington County for the past 45 years.

Surviving are his wife, Gertrude McClure of Salem; one daughter, Charlene
Richardson of Salem; three brothers: D. Jack McClure of North Vernon, Arles
McClure and Jesse W. McClure, both of Salem; two sisters: Nettie Embry of
Caneyville, Ky., and Bonnie Horton of Sonora, Ky.; two grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Barbara L. Hobson of Salem
and Clarence "Jeb" Hasty of Mount. Vernon, Ky., who were raised in the
home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one sister and one
brother.

Dawalt Funeral Home, Salem, is in charge of arrangements.
