6 Nov 1843  Harriet McCROCKLIN, widow of Washington McCROCKLIN Dec’d of the 
County of Spencer and State of Kentucky of the one part to Newman WELLS of the 
Same County and state aforesaid of the other part that for and in Consideration 
of the sum of Six hundred and ten Dollars the amount specified in a Bond which 
the said Washington executed to the said WELLS bearing date 29 Jan 1840  and in 
which Bond the said Washington McCROCKLIN acknowledged to have received the 
amount of money as aforesaid and to Convey to the S’d WELLS thirty acres two 
roods and fourteen poles of land and for the further Consideration of one 
Dollar to the said Harriet McCROCKLIN in hand paid doth grant bargain sell and 
convey all right title interest and claim which she has and has acquired by and 
through a Deed made by Thomas COOK and Sarah COOK his wife to her the said 
Harriet McCROCKLIN and Ellen Jane McCROCKLIN the only child of the said 
Washington Dec’d dated 22 April 1843 now of record in the clerk’s office of 
Spencer County in and to thirty acres two roods and fourteen poles in the 
county of Spencer on the waters of Simpson’s Creek  bounded by said WELLS and 
McCROCKLIN’s corner... to a corner to FOSTER.
