McGinnis January 23 1866 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: January 23 1866 Recorded: February 23 1866 Deed Book 9, page 381 This Indenture made this 23th day of January 1866, between John B. McGinis and Elizabeth McGinis his wife, late Elizabeth Pittman of Boyle County Kentucky, of the first part and Mrs. Susan Pittman, widow, of Christopher J. Pittman deceased, of same county and state of the other part, Witnesseth: That in consideration of Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars in hand paid, and in pursuance to a contract of sale made by the said Elizabeth McGinis, then Pittman, with the said Christopher J. Pittman de'd in his life time, the said parties of the first part hath this day bargained and sold, and by these presents, doth bargain, sell and convey to the parties of the second part, and their heirs &c forever, subject to the limitation hereinafter expressed as to the extent to be held by the said Mrs. Susan Pittman, widow of said C. J. Pittman dec'd the undivided interest of the said Elizabeth Pittman formerly, now McGinis, in the lands (including the dower assigned to his widow of the late Thomas Pittman deceased, situated in the County of Boyle and State of Kentucky, together with all its appurtenances and improvements. And the said John B. McGinis and Elizabeth McGinis, his wife, hereby covenant with the parties of the of the second part and their heirs &c forever, against all claims whatever. It is understood hereby that only such interest in the property herein mentioned is conveyed or intended to be conveyed to the said widow, Susan Pittman, as by law she is entitled to have conveyed to her under the contract of sale made with her late husband, C. J. Pittman dec'd, and the deed conveys to her no other right or interest than by law she is entitled to under said contract.
