McGINNIS March 8 1861 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: March 8 1861 Recorded: March 8 1861 Book 34, page 25 This Indenture made this 8th day of March 1861 Between J. L. McGinnis and Mary his wife of the County of Mercer and State of Kentucky of the one part and Dudley Barnett of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said J. L. McGinnis and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Dudley Barnett and his heirs forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Mercer and state aforesaid and in the town of Nevada on the pike leading from Harrodsburg to Perryville and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at J. R. Tumey Shop thence north with the turnpike road to two small black locust bushes thence Easterly to a stone in John Neffs line thence with said line to the beginning reserving a right to a Sufficient Quantity of water of the said well for family use for the Said McGinnis and his heirs forever and assigns with its appurtenances to have and hold the aforesaid Tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Dudley Barnett and his heirs forever and the Said J. L. McGinnis and Mary McGinnis his wife for themselves their heirs and &c doth by these presents covenant with the Said Dudley Barnett that they will forever warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises against the claim or claims of all evry other person or persons. In Testimony whereof the Said J. L. McGinnis and Mary his wife have hereunto Set there hands and affixed their Seals this day and date first with written. J. L.
