This indenture made and entered into this Fourth day of January 1858 between 
James W. McGinnis and Lucy McGinnis his wife of the first part, and John A. 
Burton of the second part all of the county of Boyle & State of Kentucky, 
witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum 
of Seven hundred Dollars to us in hand paid.  The receipt is hereby 
acknowledged, have bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain 
and sell release and convey unto the said party of the second part and to his 
heirs & assigns a certain of[crossed out] lot of land with all its 
appurtenances, lying and being in the Town of Perryville on the east side of 
Chaplin and adjoining the lands of Tadlock, Broyles & Gray also the same 
purchased of John C. Mcginnis and bounded as follows (viz) beginning at the 
Gate of Mrs. Tadlock where it now stands, running south with her line twenty 
two poles and thirteen feet east seven poles and Sixteen inches North twenty 
two poles thirteen feet to the street, west with said Street seven poles 
Sixteen inches to the beginning including all the ground embraced in Said 
boundary; to have and to hold the above lot or parcel of land and its 
appurtenances unto the said John A. Burton and his heirs forever, And the Said 
James W. McGinnis and Lucy McGinnis his wife will forever warrant and defend 
the title of said lot of land free from the claim or claims of all persons 
whatever unto the said John A. Burton and his heirs and assigns.  In testimony 
whereof the Said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and 
seals this day and date above written.

I R.R. Bolling Clerk of the Boyle County Court do certify that this deed from 
James W. McGinnis and Lucy McGinnis his wife to John A. Burton was this day 
duly acknowledged before me in my office by the said Grantors to be their act 
and deed, and the same was admitted to record.  Whereupon the Same together 
with this certificate is truly recorded in my ofifce.  Given under my hand this 
5th day of January 1858.
