McGinnis December 16 1848 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: December 16 1848 Recorded: September 18 1852 Book 4, page 431 This Indenture made and entered into this Sixteenth day of December 1848 Between John B. McGinnis & Sarah E. McGinnis his wife of the County of Boyle & State of Kentucky of the one part, and Thomas Coulter of the County & State affs'd of the other part Witnesseth, That for and in consideration of the Sum of Eight Hundred & Seventy five dollars to us in hand paid the rept. of who hereby acknowledge, we have this day bargained & Sold and by these presents, do grant bargain & Sell unto the Said Thomas Coulter one certain tract or parcel of Land Situated on the Waters of Quirks run in the County of Boyle being a part of a tract Deeded by James Caldwell to Jesse McGinness, and Bounded as follows, (Viz.) Beginning in James R. Armstrong's line, at a Box elder & Ironwood and running with his line N1W 79 poles to Said Armstrong's corner a white ash in a line of Jeremiah Laws Heris, thence with their line and William McGinness's line N88-1/2E 154 poles to a Stone & Hoopwood on the Bank of Quirks run, Thence up said run on the East Side with its Several Meanders S44W 14 poles S16-1/2W 7-1/2 poles S70W 8-1/2 poles S20W 2-1/2 poles opposite a Beech & Elm Thence leaving the Creek S66W 142 poles to the Beginning, Containing Forty three & 3/4 be the Same more or less, To have and to hold the affs'd tract or parcel of land, with all and Singular, its appurtenances to the s'd Thomas coulter his heirs &c forever, and the said John B. McGinness and Sarah E. McGinness his wife will forever warrant and dend [sic] the title free from the claim or claims of themselves their Heirs &c, Also from the Claims of all person or persons whatsoever. McGinnis this day personally appeared us who being examined privily and apart from her husband as the Law directs voluntary with her own free will and Consent relinquished her wright of dower to the premises conveyed by this deed, and the Same is certified to the Clerk of the County Court, for the county of Boyle for record, where the premises lie, Given under our hand and seals this 16th December 1848.
