McGinnis September 12 1832 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: September 12 1832 Recorded: September 12 1832 Book 18, page 69 This Indenture made this 12th day of Sept. 1832 between Greenberry D. McGinnis and Sarah his wife Late Sarah Laws of the County of Mercer & State of Kentucky of the One part and Harvey Green of the County of Mercer & State afs'd of the other part. Witnesseth that the Said Greenberry D. McGinnis & Sarah his wife hath in Consideration of the Sum of five hundred & Eight six Dollars & 66 cts. to them in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained & Sold aliened & confirmed to the Said Harvey his Heirs or assigns a Certain tract of land lying on the East side of Quirks Run Mercer County Containing fifty three Acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows, Viz. Beginning at a Stone Corner to John Davenport thence N87E 141-1/2 poles to a Stone & Sugartree Corner to Samuel Knox thence N3W 28 poles to a Stone Corner to Same thence S87W 12 poles to a stone Corner to the Same thence N3W 79 poles to a stone Corner to the same in Pawlings line thence with his line S78-3/4W 30 poles to a Stone Corner to Alexander Walker thence with his line S12E 28-1/2 poles to a Stone Corner to the Same thence S72W 87 poles to a Small black Walnut bush Corner to the same thence S12E 10-1/w poles to a Stone Corner to the Same at the graveyard thence with a line of Said Walker S61W 29 poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have & to hold the above described fifty three Acres of land with all its appurtenances to the Only propper use and behoof of him the Said Harvey Green and his Heirs forever. And the said Greenberry D. McGinnis & Sarah his wife shall and will forever warrant & defend the Said parcel of land against the claim or claims of their Heirs & all Persons claiming under them & from the claims of all persons whomsoever. In Testimony whereof the Said Greenberry D. McGinnis & Sarah his wife hath hereunto Set their hands and affixed their Seals, this day & Year first written. Witness Greenberry D. McGinnis ad Sarah his wife parties thereto to the their act and deed and the Said Sarah being examined by me privily and apart from her Said husband declared that she did freely & willingly sign seal and deliver the said writing and wishes not to retract it & acknowledged the Said writing again Shown and explained to her to be her act and deed & consenteth that the Same may be recorded, whereupon Said Deed together with this Certificate hath been duly recorded in my office.
