Know all men by these presents that I Patsey McGinnis of the County of Mercer 
and State of Kentucky have this day Bargained & sold unto David Lillard of said 
state and County one negro woman named lucy to secure a debt of one hundred and 
fifty two dollars which I have given my note to Georg Calwell for which note 
becomes due May 18th 1812 I the said Patsey McGinnis do Warint and defend the 
said negro woman from the claim of any person whatever to only use of said 
David Lillard to heirs or assines.  Nevertheless it is clerly understood by the 
parties that said Patsey McGinnis pays the above mentioned note of one hundred 
and fifty two Dollars with Interest thereon then the above obligation to be 
void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue as witness my hand and seal 
this eighteenth day of May 1811.

The foregoing Instrument of writing was this day acknowledged before me by 
Patsey McGinnis a party thereto to be her act and deed whereupon I have 
recorded the same in my office.
