This Indenture Made and Entered into this 6th day of September 1815 by and 
between Patsey McGinnis Widow & Relict of William McGinnis Deceased of the one 
part and James Manners of the Other part all of the County of Mercer and State 
of Kentucky Witnesseth that whereas the said Patsey is entitled to forty One 
acres of land including the Mansion House of Said Deceased William as her Dower 
in the lands of the Deceased whereon he died & on which the said Patsey now 
resides on the Chaplins fork which Sd. forty One acres was laid off to said 
Patsey by Joel P. Williams & Thomas H. Allin as Commissioners appointed by the 
Mercer Circuit Court now this Indenture witnesseth that for and in 
consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars by the said Manners 
to her the said Patsey paid or Secured to be paid She the Said Patsey has 
bargained and Sold and by these presents doth bargain and Sell and Convey to 
the Said James Manners and his Heirs and assigns all her said right of Dower in 
and to the said forty one acres of land the bounds whereof is the same as Made 
by this [crossed out] Commissioners with its appurtenances during her the said 
Patseys natural life To have and to hold the right of Dower of her the Said 
Patsey in and to the said forty one acres during her life time unto him the 
said James Manners and his heirs & assigns to his and there only Proper use and 
behoof.  In Testimony whereof the said Patsey McGinnis hath hereunto Subscribed 
her name and affixed her seal the day & year first above written.

This Indenture was the day acknowledged before me in my office by Patsey 
McGinnis a party thereto to be her act and Deed Whereupon I have Made the Same
