From: KyArchives [Archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Saturday, October 30, 2004 12:02 AM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: McGinnis-to-McGinnis.1822.Mercer.DEED Samuel McGinnis - Jesse McGinnis July 9 1822 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: July 9 1822 Recorded: August 3 1822 Deed Book 12, page 384 This Indenture Made and entered into this 9th day of July 1822 Between Jesse Mcginnis & Agnes Mcginniss his wife of the county of Mercer & State of Kentucky of the one part & Samuel Mcginnis jr of the same county & State of the other part Witnesseth the said Jesse McGinnis & Agnes his wife for and in consideration of the full & just sum of two thousand dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have this day granted bargained & sold & by these presents do grant, bargain, alien & convey to the said Samuel McGinnis a certain tract or parcel of Land Situate lying & being in the county of Mercer, State of Kentucky and on the waters of Quirks run & containing one hundred Fifty Seven & 1/4 acres, bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at a white oak a corner to John Neff thence S58W 47 poles to a black Locust corner to John Davenport thence S88West 97-1/2 poles to a stone corner to John Neff, thence S2East 26 poles to a Stone corner to same, thence S88W 51- 1/4 poles to a Walnut Hickory & ash corner to the same, thence S2East 19 poles to a white oak Dogwood & ironwood corner to the same, thence West 20-1/2 poles to a Stone corner to the same in a line of the meeting house Lott, thence S1- 1/2E 3-1/2 poles to a Stone corner to the sd. Lott, thence West 11-1/2 poles to a stone corner or stake in Jeremiah Laws line thence S1-1/2E 60-1/2 poles to a stone corner to Wm. Mcginniss thence S2East 5-1/2 poles to a sugar tree, corner to John Richardson, thence S86East 111 poles to an iron Wood in Francis Neffs line & corner to said Richardson thence N20West 85-1/2 poles to a stone & box elder a corner to John Neff, thence N41 west 32 poles to a Stone corner to same, thence N22West 20 poles to the Beginning to have & to hold the afsd. tract of land together with all & singular the appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said Samuel Mcginniss Jun'r His Heirs & assigns forever the said Jesse Mcginnis & Agnes his wife for themselves their Heirs administrators &c will forever Warrant and defend the afsd. land against the claim or claims of all & every person or persons whatsoever In testimony whereof the parties have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and date above written.
