McGinnis November 6 1855 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: November 6 1855 Recorded: November 6 1855 Deed Book 6, page 70 This Indenture made and entered into this the 6th day of November 1855 between James T. McGinnis of the County of Boone and State of Indiana of the first part and Grandison McGinnis of the County of Boyle and State of Kentucky of the second part. Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain & sell, alien & convey unto the said Grandison McGinnis of the second part, all his right, title interest and claim in and to a certain tract or parcel of land situate and being in the[crossed out] Boyle County Kentucky, and known as the "Hope Tract" and lying on the head waters of the rolling Fork being the undivided interest of said James T. McGinnis in said land inherited by him from Washington McGinnis deceased. It is understood, distinctly, that the said tract or parcel of land is subject to the Dower of Lucy Ann McGinnis, widow of said Washington McGinnis. To have and to hold the said undivided interest in the said tract or parcel of land to the said Grandison McGinnis & his heirs and assigns forever. And the said James T. McGinnis for himself, heirs, Executors and Administrators, doth covenant and agree to forever warrant and defend the said undivided portion of said tract of land to him the said Grandison McGinnis against the claims and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand the day and year above written. James T. McGinnis State of Kentucky Boyle County ) Sct I, Richard R. Bolling, Clerk of the Boyle County Court, do certify that the foregoing instrument of writing from James T. McGinnis to Grandison McGinnis was this day produced to me by the parties & acknowledged by James T. McGinnis to be his act and Deed and ordered to record by Grandison McGinnis.
