McGinnis February 12, 1864 Warren-Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: February 12, 1864 Recorded: February 17, 1864 Warren County, Kentucky Deed Book 30, pages 194-195 This Indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred and fifty dollars part in hand paid and the ballance secured to be paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged we H. S. McGinnis and Margaret A. McGinnis his wife of Boyle County and State of Kentucky have bargained and sold and do hereby alien and convey (as one of the legal heirs of Knight Bowles deceased) to Jesse S. McGinnis of Warren County and state of Kentucky one undivided fourth part of a tract of land now in the possession of Mrs Harriet Kinimouth widow of Knight Bowles deceased said land is situated in the County of Warren and State of Kentucky and bounded as follows, on the North by Barren River on the South by George Cherrys farm on the East by Barren River and George ????? farm & on the West by V. K. Hines farm, containing one hundred and Forty nine acres be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances and improvements. To have and to hold to the said Jesse S. McGinnis and his heirs &c forever and we H. S. McGinnis and Margaret A. McGinnis his wife do hereby covenant and agree with the said Jesse S. McGinnis for ourselves our heirs &c that we will forever warrant and defend to him and to his heirs &c the title to said land & appurtenances hereby conveyed against all claims whatever. In testimony whereof we have hereto set our hands and seal this 12 day of Feby 1864. H. S. McGinnis (Seal) Margaret A. McGinnis (Seal) State of Kentucky Boyle County, Sct. I, J. B. Nichols clerk of the county aforesaid do certify that the within deed of conveyance from H. S. McGinnis and Margaret A. McGinnis his wife to Jesse S. McGinnis was this day produced to me by the said H. S. McGinnis and acknowledged to be his act and deed and on the same day the same was acknowledged by the said Margaret A. McGinnis wife of the said H. S. McGinnis to be her act and deed according to law, and the same with this certificate is hereby certified to the clerk of the County Court of Warren and State of Ky. for record where the premises lies. Rose clerk of the County Court of said County do certify that this deed from H. S. McGinnis and Margaret A. McGinnis his wife to Jesse S. McGinnis was this day exhibited to me in my office for record and the same being Stamped as required by act of Congress and the tax being paid I have recorded said deed with the foregoing certificate and this certificate in my office as required by law.
