McGinnis March 10 1825 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: March 10 1825 Recorded: August 3 1825 Deed Book 13, page 453 This Indenture made this 10th day of May 1825 Between Greenberry D. McGinnis and Sally his wife of the County of Mercer and State of Kentucky of the one part and John Neff of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that whereas Thomas Laws in his life time bound himself by a certain writing obligatory to convey unto said John Neff the quantity of seven acres of Land under the penalty of two hundred dollars and and which conveyance never was made in the life time of said Laws and whereas in the Division of the Land of said Thomas Laws deceased among his heirs the said seven acres of Land has fallen into the lott of Land of Sally McGinnis Late Sally Laws one of the heirs of said Decedent Now in compliance with the obligation of their Father the said Greenberry D. McGinnis and Sally his wife for the above recited consideration and as Representatives of their Father Deceased hath given granted sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell Alien and confirm unto the said John Neff and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of Land containing seven acres situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and on Quirks run and bounded as follows To wit, Beginning at a black ash in Kirklands line thence N87E 40 poles to a stone and sugar tree in now corner to John Wright thence N3W 28 poles to a Stone corner to said Wright thence S87W 40 poles to a Stone and white ash thence S3E 28 poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with all its appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Neff and his heirs forever and the said Greenberry D. McGinnis and Sally his wife for themselves their heirs &c shall and will forever warrant and defend the said Land and premises against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said Greenberry D. McGinnis and Sally his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals this the day and date first written. Greenberry D. Mitchell two of the Commonwealths Justices of the peace for and in said County and being Examined separate & apart from her husband hath voluntarily relinquised her right of Inheritance to the within Described tract of Land and consented that the same shall be made of Record.
