Deed Book 6, page 257

Know All Men, That We, James T. McGinnis & Hannah McGinnis, his wife, of Boone 
County, Indiana, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred dollars in 
hand paid by J. P. Owens of Boyle County Ky, the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged, do hereby bargain sell & convey unto the said J. P. Owens, his 
heirs & assigns forever, All of their right, title & interest in and to the 
Home tract of Washington McGinnis, decd. (of whom the said James T. McGinnis is 
a legal heir of[crossed out] & representative) supposed to contain about 
Seventy Eight acres, be the same more or less.  Together with all and singular 
the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging.  To Have and to Hold the 
same unto the said J. P. Owens, his heirs and vendees forever.  The grantors 
hereby covenanting with the grantee his heirs, &c, that the title to the 
premises (their interest afsd) so conveyed is clear, free and unencumbered, and 
that they will forever warrant and defend the same, unto him the said J. P. 
Owens, his heirs &c, against the claims of all persons whatever.  In Witness 
Whereof, they hereto set their hands and seals, this 25th day of September, 
1856.

I, R. R. Bolling, Clerk of the Boyle County Court, certify that this Instrument 
of writing from James T. McGinnis to J. P. Owens was this day acknowledged 
before me, in my Office, by the said McGinnis to be his act and deed, and 
ordered to record.  Whereupon, the same together with this certificate, is 
truly recorded in my Office.  
Given under my hand this 25th day of September, 1856.
