Witnesseth that the said Jesse McGinnis and Agnes his wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seven hundred and Sixty Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell & convey unto the said Robert Temple and his heirs forever one certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid on Quirks run and bounded as follows. Beginning at the edge of Quirks run Opposite a beech and elm corner to John Richardson thence N88-1/2E 45-1/2 poles to a beech in a line of William Martins Heirs thence S2-1/2E 80 poles to a stone Corner to Thomas Colter thence S88W 144 poles to a Sugar tree and elm corner to the Same thence North 13 poles to a lynn[?] & white ash Corner to Robert Walker thence S86W 46 poles to two beeches corner to James R. Armstrong thence N1W 44 poles to a box elder and ironwood thence N66E 140 poles to a white walnut on the east Bank of Quirks run thence up the said run with its meanders N73-1/2E 7-1/2 poles S3-1/2E 7-1/2 [poles] S48E 8 poles S13W 15 poles to the Beginning Containing ninety five acres be the Same more or less with its appurtenances to have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of him the Said Robert Temple and his heirs forever and the Said Jesse McGinnis and Agnes his wife for themselves their heirs Exrs &c the aforesaid tract or parcel of land unto the said Robert Temple his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and Defend by these presents. This day personally appeared before us the undersigned two of the Commonwealth Justices of the Peace in and for Said County Agnes McGinnis wife of the within ["the within" crossed out] Jesse McGinnis and a party to the following [crossed out] foregoing Deed and voluntarily relinquished her right of Dower in and to the Tract of land conveyed by the following Deed and desired us to certify her Said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the Mercer County Court in order that the same may be recorded.
