McGINNIS October 18 1852 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: October 18 1852 Recorded: November 23 1852 Book 4, page 470 This Indenture, made this the 18th day of October A.D. 1852 Between John B. McGinnis and Sarah E. his wife of the County of Boyle and State of Kentucky of the first part, and Silas Tevis of the County of Boyle and State aforesaid, of the second part. Witnesseth, That for and in consideration of the Sum of Seventeen Hundred and fifty Dollars, in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the Said John B. McGinnis, and wife hath granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents doth grant bargain, Sell, alien, and convey, unto the Said Silas Tevis and his heirs and assigns forever a tract or parcel of land, Situate and being in the County of Boyle and State aforesaid on the Waters of the Doctors Fork of Chaplin, and Bounded as follows, towit, Beginning near a Buckeye tree on the West side of the Doctors Fork of Chaplin Corner to Wm. Barker, thence S 150-1/2 poles to a Stake four feet West of a Buckeye Corner to J. Downey in B. Chatham's line, thence S88E 29 poles to a State Corner to J. L. Walker, thence 39E 148 poles to an Elm tree and Black Locust Stump Corner to Jacob Goodnight, thence N25W 59 poles to a red Oak tree corner to Goodnight thence N85W 34 poles to a Sugar Tree Corner ["corner" crossed out] on the other Side of said Doctors Fork, Corner to Wm. Barker and J. Goodnight, thence up the Fork S46W 4 poles S76-1/2W 40 poles S67-1/2W 22 poles to the Beginning, Containing Eighty Seven and one half acres, be the Same more or less, Together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining, To Have and to hold, the land hereby conveyed, with the appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto the said Silas Tevas, and his heirs and assigns forever, And the Said parties of the first part, for themselves, their heirs, executors &c, doth by these presents, covenant and agree to forever warrant and defend the title to the aforesaid land and appurtenances against the claim or claims of all and every persons or persons whatsover. Akin Clerk of the Boyle County Court, do certify that this Deed of Conveyance from John B. Mcginnis and Sarah E. McGinnis his wife to Silas Tevis was this day produced to me in my office, and acknowledged by the said John B. McGinnis, to be his act and deed, and the Said Sarah E. McGinnis being examined apart from her husband, and the contents explained to her, she voluntarily acknowledged the same, and consented that it might be recorded.
