Williams - Samuel McGinnis March 3 1823 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: March 3 1823 Recorded: March 3 1823 Deed Book 12, page 480 Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Mcginnis of the County of Mercer & State of Kentucky have this day for an in consideration of the full and just sum of two hundred and fifty to me in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have Granted Bargained & Sold and do by these presents Grant Bargain & Sell and Deliver unto Joel P. Williams of the County and State afsd. one Negro man Slave by the name of Charles about thirty years of age to have and to hold the said Negroman Charles for his only proper use and behoof of him the said Joel P. Williams his heirs assigns as witness my hand and seal this 3d day of March 1823 Provided Nevertheless and these presence are upon this Condition and it is the true content and meaning herof that If the Said Samuel Miginnis shall well & Truly pay or cause to paid to the Said Williams on or before the 10th day of March 1823 one Note of two hundred dollars with Interest from the 27th day of March 1822 also one other note of fifty dollars Due this day both of which notes Bares date on this day now if said Miginnis doth pay or Cause to be paid unto Williams the aforesaid Notes then this obligation is void and of no Effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue Given under my hand & seal this 3 March 1823.
