Appraisement
Spencer County Sct September County Court 1848

Ordered that Moses V. BUCKNER, James GILBERT, George K. SLONE and Joseph 
FOREMAN or any three of them being first sworn before a Justice of the peace 
do truly and justly appraise in current money the slaves if any and personal 
Estate of James J. McGREW Decd and return the appraisement made their hands to 
the court.

personally appeared before the undersigned Justice of the peace in and for said 
county and was sworn according to Law as appraisers as ordered within Given under

A True and just Inventory and appraisement of all the personal Estate of James J. 
McGREW Decd which was produced to us by Isaac A. McGREW his Administrator A Breakfast 
table stand table and sugar chest $6.50 Book case 4.00 Bureau and 7 chairs 13.50 
Bedstead Bed & Bedding 19.00 Clock Saddle Basket and axes 5.00 Double C______ ploughs 
& stretchers 7.00 Two hors wagons & two pair of horses gray 42.00 one Bay horse one 
sorrel do 100.00 22 hogs & 17 shoats 65.00 A lot of wheat at 50 cts per bushel one 
red cow 7.00 one field of corn 125.00 one lot of oats @ 12 ½ per bushel 38.12 ½ one 
note Milton McGREW due 29th of Sept 1848 35.00

At a County Court held for Spencer County on Monday the 6th day of November 1848. This 
Inventory and appraisement of the Estate of James J. McGREW Decd was returned and
