All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: William McGuire http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00022.html#0005431 March 20, 2008, 6:08 pm Written: October 1796 Recorded: October 1796 Mercer County, Kentucky Deed books, Vol: 3, page 153, 1796 This Indenture made this day of ____ in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninty ___ between John McGuire and Ann his wife of the county of Clark and commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and John Hailey of the county of Mercer and common wealth of aforesaid of the other part, wittnesseth that the said John McGuire & Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty pounds current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid, the receipt where of they doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said John Hailey, his heirs, executors and administrators; hath granted bargained, sold, aliened (??) and confirmed, and by these presents (??), do grant, bargain sell alien (??) and confirm unto the said John Hailey his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in County of mercer on the west side of Dicks River & bounded as followeth to wit Beginning on Dicks River at the mouth of Davis’es Spring branch thence up this same one hundred and two poles to said Davis’es Corner Walnut and Sugar Tree thence with his line South sixty poles to Sugar tree, Dogwood and White Oak thence with another of his lines west one hundred and eighty poles to his corner aph (aforesaid?) and two Sugar trees thence South One hundred and fourteen poles to Sugartree and White Oak in Joseph Lewis’s line thence East thirty five poles to white oak on a ?? branch, thence North Eighty degrees East two hundred and fifteen poles to two white oakes on the river clift thence up the same same to the mouth of a small branch thence down the river as it meanders to the beginning, containing one hundred and eighty acres by estimation together with all improvements, water courses, profits and appurtanences ?? whatsoever to the said principles(??) belonging or in anys wife appertaining and the Reverfious (??), Remainders (??) and Profits thereof and all the estate, right, title interest property, claim and demand of them the said John McGuire and Ann his wife of in and to the same. To have and to Hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtanances unto the said John Hailey and his heirs and assigns forever and the said John McGuire and Ann his wife for themselves their heirs, executors and administrators do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said John Hailey his heirs and assigns by these ___ them the said John McGuire & Ann his wife and their heirs & all and every other person or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant and forever defend these presents, In witness whereof they the said John McGuire and Ann his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
