BIO: McIntire, Robert s/o Letherman, Barbara - Unknown Co BONO TOWNSHIP, LAWRENCE COUNTY, INDIANA Page 340 ROBERT MCINTIRE, farmer and stock-raiser, is now living in his native county, his birth occurring September 13, 1833. David McIntire, his father, was a native of Ireland, immigrated to the United States and married Barbara Letherman, who was a Kentuckian by birth. In 1818 they came to Indiana, Mr. McIntire serving Lawrence County one term as Commissioner, and thirteen years as Trustee of Bono Township. Robert McIntire learned blacksmithing in early years, but has turned the greater part of his time to agricultural pursuits. He is the owner of a farm containing 120 acres, and is a highly esteemed citizen and a Republican in politics. To the marriage of his parents the followings children were born: William, Robert, Elijah, John, Mary A., James, Daniel, Nancy, Elizabeth, Margaret and Martha. May 29,1861, Mr. McIntire wedded Miss Sarah Jane Norman, who was born March 1, 1843, a daughter of Joseph and Susan (Dunn) Norman, and by her is the father of one son: William H., born March, 1862.
