Mr. McPeek was born Feb. 3, 1896, in Ashland, a son of the late Marion and Martha Blankenship McPeek. He was a member of the Ashland Baptist Church, was a retired plasterer and a member of the Plasterer Union 249 of Huntington. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eunice Huguenot McPeek; four sons, Harry Jr. and Donald McPeek, both of Dayton, O., Lawrence McPeek of Lima, O., and Ronald McPeek of Goldsboro, N.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Slone of Ceredo, Mrs. Helen Huddle of Ironton and Mrs. Geraldine Cretchmer of Wayne, Mich.; a stepson, Charles Huguenot of Flatwoods; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Garnet Smith of Ironton and Mrs. Ella May Borders of Westwood; a brother, Herman McPeek of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Mrs. Vada Nichols, Mrs. Ruth Darby and Mrs. Marie Centers, all of Ashland, and Mrs. Dorothy Valentine of Flatwoods; 46 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at John Steen Funeral Home by the Rev. Jack Huddle and the Rev. Oscar Shepherd. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the ambulance fund at Scope Towers.
