Mrs. Marie Louise Meyer Meriwether, mother of Lexington architect Hugh 
Meriwether, died at 10 p.m. Sunday at a local nursing home after an illness of 
several months.

Native of Louisville
Widow of Charles J. Meriwether

Member of the group that founded the Highland Presbyterian Church and the 
Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church

Member of the Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church and served as church historian

Survivors:
son,Hugh Meriwether, Lexington;
brother, John Meyer, Louisville; 
sister, Mrs. Viola M. Tucker, New Albany, Ind., 
granddaughter, Miss Lois Meriwether, Lexington. 

Buried: Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville

Louise Meyer Meriwether was the daughter of a German immigrant. Her husband was 
also of German descent. Her son, Hugh was a well known architect. She had 
another son, Ches, who died in 1950.
