The death of Mr. James Miller, which occurred on Modnay evening at the family residence in Glasgow, removes from our midst one of the oldest and most generally known citizens of Barren county. Mr. Miller was born in Greenbriar county, Virginia, on the 12th day of May, 1794, and removed, with his parents, to Glasgow in the year 1800, since which time he has been continuously a citizen of Glasgow. By frugal management he accumulated some property, besides rearing a large fmaily. His wife, who had shared his home, and its joys and sorrows, for more than sixty years, only preceeded him to the grave about eighteen months. Mr. Miller was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, and had been for more than forty years, and passed away calmly with christian confidence. "The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. White, at the Presbyterian church, day before yesterday evening, at three and half o'clock, before a large assemblage of our people, after which his remains were buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, near the depot."
