OBIT: George W. Minor, 1968 Jefferson & Taylor Co. Submitted by Debbie Dicken George W. Minor Killed in Louisville George W. Minor, 57, a native of Taylor County, was killed while working in a drainage ditch on Grade Lane west of Crittenden Drive, Louisville, on August 1. He and another employee of the Jefferson County Road Department were standing in the ditch steadying a concrete tile as a crane lowered it when the crane touched a high-tension wire and the two men were electrocuted. He lived at 4130 Hill View Avenue, Shively, Ky, Mr. Minor was born September 18, 1910 in Taylor County, the son of Minnie Edelen Minor, deceased, and Louis Minor, who survives his son and lives in Shively, Ky. He married Jeanette Lambert on September 6, 1953 and they had two daughters: Mrs. Doris Chase, Garden City, Michigan; and Mrs. Peggy Finch, Detroit, Michigan. He is also survived by his wife and a sister, Mrs. Mae Belle Canter, Dearborn, Michigan. A brother, Gussie Minor preceded him in death in 1934. The funeral was held in the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel on August 3 at 3 p.m. with Rev. George K. Bowling officiating. Burial was in St. Francis DeSales Church Cemetery, Spurlington, Taylor County. Pallbearers were Raymond Clark, William Murray, Isaac Smothers, Clarence Sidebottom, Junior McDermott and Thomas Clark. Unknown Taylor Co. newspaper, no dateline. ______________________________
