(Breckinridge County), Mr. James Pryor MINOR, age 68 years. He was ill for one year, and had difficulty breathing. He desired to be buried by his parents in Bloomfield, Nelson County, Kentucky, where he was born, and where he lived the greater part of his life. The funeral services were conducted by Reverend Mr. Joiner. He formerly owned one of the most beautiful homes in Nelson County. He was the son of William MINOR, and the grandson of Col. Nicholas MINOR who was one of the farmers in the early constitution of Kentucky. He was unmarried, and leaves one brother, William E. MINOR. Breckinridge News, Cloverport, Ky., Wednesday, February 22, 1899 Obituary DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN (the following was taken from the "Nelson County Record" newspaper, printed in Bardstown, Kentucky): Mr. James P. MINOR died at the home of his brother, Mr. William O. MINOR, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky on February 5, 1899, and his remains were brought to Bloomfield and laid by his father February 7, 1899. He was born in Nelson County at the MINOR Homestead on March 14, 1831. He lived here most of his life, and a prominent farmer. He moved to Breckinridge County in 1877, and entered farm life. His grandfather, Nicholas MINOR, deceased, emigrated from Virginia with a colony in 1780, and identified with early developement. William MINOR, Sr. was J. P. MINOR'S father.
