OBIT: Mary Ellen Minor, 1979, Green, Marion & Taylor Co. Submitted by Debbie Dicken Mrs. Mary Ellen Minor, 74, of Route 6, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Mr. Willard Gupton and Mrs. Lucetta Yankey Gupton, was born in Green County, October 17, 1904. She died at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, September 29, at the Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon where she had been a patient for the past five days. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. John William Minor January 3, 1925. To this union there were six daughters and four sons born: Mrs. Sarah Francis Minor of Bullitt County, Mrs. Cathern Lucille Spurling, Mrs. Johnetta Lee Rash and Mrs. Christine Wise, all of Campbellsville, Mrs. Edith May Dabney of Paducah, Mrs. Ruth Fay Stone of Grossport, Ohio, Mr. J. W. Minor of Rt. 6, Campbellsville, Mr. James Robert Minor of Nenieva, Ind., Mr. Joseph Ray Minor and Mr. Donald Dean Minor, both of Campbellsville; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters! and two brothers: Mrs. Minnie Bell Hardesty of Bradfordsville, Mrs. Cathern Obanion of Campbellsville, Mr. Thorton Gupton of Finley, and Mr. Charlie Bob Gupton of Louisville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, October 1, at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Chapel by Rev. D. L. Druien. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Cox, Henry Mann, Gilbert Colvin, Junior McDermott, Sam Graham, Willard Gupton, Alonzo Sapp, and Rubin Burkhead.
