Morris.Joe.P.1978.Pike.OBIT JOE P. MORRIS Joe P. Morris, 80, of Justiceville was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday November 7 at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital. Born May 4, 1898 in Pike County, he was the son of the late Kinzie and Matilda (Jane) Ramey Morris. He was a retired Pike County school teacher. Survivors include his wife, Myrtie Varney Morris; five sons, Curtis of Pikeville, Tracy of Raccoon, Danny of Millard, Radus of Zebulon, and Jan of Regina; three daughters, Zuann Morris of Justiceville, Lojene R. Williams of Wolfpit, and Nadine Collins of Justiceville; two brothers, Victor Morris of Columbus, Ohio and Lawrence Morris of Raccoon; six sisters, Nancy Allen of Columbus, Lealer Maynard of Lexington, Dixie Keene of Raccoon, Gusta Helms of McAndrews; and Jettie Collins and Louise Hall, both of Pikeville; and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Firday, November 10 at the Primitive Baptist Church at Raccoon with Paul Justice, Johnny Blackburn and Teddy Ball officiating. Burial followed in the Morris Cemetery at Raccoon under the direction of the Justice Funeral Home of Pikeville. Contributed by Glenna 22 May 1997
