Morris.Lawrence.1985.Pike.OBIT LAWRENCE MORRIS MARCH 9, 1985 RACCOON, Ky. - Lawrence Morris, 80, of Raccoon, died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital. Born March 29, 1904, he was a son of the late Kenzie B. Morris and Matilda (Jane) Ramey Morris. A retired miner, he was a memer of the Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Collins Morris. Other survivors include five sons, Bobby Gene Morris of Columbus, Ohio, Andrew Jackson Morris of Raccoon, Kenzie Wendell Morris and Gordon Kelly Morris, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Lester Ray Morris of Raccoon; four daughters, Ermil Fay Goff of Raccoon, Nona Mae compton of Yeager, and Sylvia Kaye Compton and Lois A. Anderson, both of Raccoon; a brother, Victor Morris of Columbus, Ohio; five sisters, Nancy Allen of Columbus, Ohio, Gusta Helms of McAndrews, Louise Hall of Pikeville, Lealer Maynard of Lexington, and Jettie Collins of Pikeville; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Raccoon Primitive Baptist Church with Paul Dean Justice, Joe Slone and David Coleman officiaating. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery at Raccoon. Arrangements are under the direction of the Johns Creek Funeral Home of Meta. Contributed by Glenna 22 May 1997
