KY Deed Bk C, p 74 James; Mudd; Slack; Barlowe; Deed – Hugh James to Thomas Mudd This Indenture made this twelvth day of April in the Year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and four between Joseph James of the County of Washington and State of Kentucky of the one part and Thomas Mudd of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Joseph James for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Mudd the receipt of which I doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold any by these presents doth Bargain Give Grant sell and Confirm unto the said Thomas Mudd his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land Situated being and lying in the County of Washington on road run containing one hundred acres of land it being part of Randolph Slacks deceasd, land Beginning at a elm Ironwood and dogwood corner to William Slacks two hundred acres survey thence running South forty eight degrees East two hundred poles to hickory and two dogwoods on Barlowes line thence with said line North forty two degrees West eighty poles to the Beginning. With its appurtenances to have and to hold the aforesaid or parcel of land with ll its appurtenances and the aforesaid Joseph James for himself and his heirs Executors administrators doth warrant and forever defend the aforesaid land one hundred acres of land to be the same more or less with its appurtenances unto him the said Thomas Mudd his heirs and assigns forever against the claim of all and every person or persons Whatsoever in Testimony thereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and Seal the day and date above written.
