McGinnis - John Neff May 10 1825 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: May 10 1825 Recorded: August 3 1825 Deed Book 13, page 451 This Indenture made this 10th day of May 1825 between John Neff of the County of Mercer and State of Kentucky of the One part and Greenberry D. McGinnis of the County and State aforesaid of the Other part. Witnesseth That whereas the said John Neff bound himself by a certain writing obligatory under the penalty of two hundred dollars unto Thomas Laws in his lifetime to convey to said Decedent the quantity of Seven acres of land and the said Thomas Laws having departed this life without such conveyance ever having been made and the Heirs of said Dec'd having now divided the lands of which said Decedent died seized & possessed and the said Heirs all agreeing that the conveyance shall now be made to Greenberry D. McGinnis who intermarried with Sally One of the Heirs of said Decedent The said John Neff for the above recited consideration hath given granted bargained sold aliend and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Greenberry D. McGinnis and his Heirs forever a certain tract ["of" crossed out] or parcel of land containing Seven acres situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and on Quirks run and bounded as follows, to wit Beginning at a stone in Kirkhams old line & corner to John Davinport thence with Davinports line S22E 15-3/4 po to a stone, thence N82-1/2E 97 poles to a Stone; thence N3W 7- 1/2 poles to a black ash in Kirkhams old line; thence thence with said line S87W 101-1/2 po to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Greenberry D. McGinnis and his Heirs forever. And the said John Neff for himself his Heirs &c shall and will forever warrant and defend the said land & premises against the claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever.
