From: KyArchives [Archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Saturday, October 30, 2004 8:37 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Nicholds-to-Nicholds.1827.Mercer.DEED Mastain Nicholds - Green (Estate) Nicholds June 4 1827 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: June 4 1827 Recorded: June 4 1827 Deed Book 14, page 270 This Indenture made this 4th day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and twenty seven Between Samuel McCoun & Polly Nicholds Executors of Green Nicholds by his last will & testament of the County of Mercer & state of Kentucky of the one part and Mastain Nicholds of the County of Mercer and State afsd. of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel McCoun and Polly Nicholds Executors as aforesaid by virtue of the power vested in them by the last will of the Sd. Green Nicholds have this day Bargained & sold and by these presents do bargain & sell to the sd. Mastain Nicholds and his heirs for and in Consideration of the just & full sum of Seven Hundred Dollars one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Mercer & on the waters of Cedar run a branch of the Kentucky river adjoining James Currens land on the North Beginning at a cedar Beach & Elm on the North bank of Cedar run then S25W 86 poles to a buckeye corner about five poles East of James Currens NE corner thence West with his line 200 poles to sd. Currens NW corner a Walnut white Oaks & Dogwood on the NE point of a ridge thence North twenty poles to the South Fork of Cedar run at a hickory tree thence down the said Fork & Main Cedar Run to the Beginning containing one hundred Acres be the same more or less To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land to the said Mastain Nicholds & his heirs forever and the sd. Samuel McCown & Polly Nicholds as Executors afsd. for and in behalf of the heirs & legal representatives of the said Green Nicholds Dec'd do covenant with the said Mastain Nicholds & his heirs as far as authorised by law that sd. heirs shall warrant & defend sd. tract of land with its appertenances from the claims or all and every other person whatever. In Testimony whereof they have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals this day and year above written.
